Krnov Public Library
The public library was completely renovated in 2003. The library is situated in the city centre near the river Opavice. The central location in the town shows the important role of a public library in the cultural life in the town. The foyer, adult lending and music areas are located on the first floor; the children's library, and the exhibition space are on the 2nd floor; the ICT Information area, newspapers, and local studies are on the 3rd floor.
Library and Health Sciences Information Centre, Kaunas University of Medicine
The main goals were to create a new ''hybrid'' type advanced University Library - Health Information Center , where traditional, advanced and virtual services were provided.
Domžale Public Library
Domžale Public Library covers the area of 5 municipalities with the main library in Domžale and its local libraries in Lukovica, Moravče, Mengeš and Trzin with app. 52.000 residents in total.
Utena A. and M. Miskiniai Public Library
The idea was to overcome existing stereotypes of a conservative library and to build an open, light and transparent library, to create the sense of freedom. The first impression after entering the building is the feeling of a public free space – open space without doors.
Lomma Library
Lomma new library, with its location on the border between the existing center and a new towndistrict by the sea that suddenly emerge, is given a key position in the city with great symbolic value for the municipality.
Panevėžys County Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library
The library is known for its exceptional architecture – after the reconstruction, the old buildings and the new extensions of the library complex are combined in such a way as to harmonize different – historic and new – architectural expressions. The architect Saulius Juškys has been awarded the National Culture and Art Prize of Lithuania for achieving harmony between contemporary architecture and historical environment.
Halmstad City Library
Halmstad City Library is situated in the central of the city near the beach of the river Nissan. The shape of the building is unique and the architects were inspired from the trees still standing on the site.
The library has approximately 260.000 media in some 50 different languages: books, magazines and newspapers from all over the world, cd’s, films, video games, talking books, digital books and digital music.
Kongsvinger Library
Kongsvinger library opened in new premises in January 2009. The library is both a public library and a library for Sentrum videregående skole (upper secondary school).
The library is situated in the city park close to the river Glomma. This central location provides easy access to all the facilities the city has to offer.
Pärnu Central Library
History:
On January 7, 1909 the public reading room was opened in Elevandi Street 7. There were 400 books in Estonian. From 1942 to 2003 the library was located at several addresses. Since May 31, 2003 Pärnu Central Library is housed in modern specially designed library building in Akadeemia Street 3 and the size of its collection is about 300 000 books in several languages and about 200 items of periodicals.
Genk Public Library
The public library of Genk is located in the town centre, at the town square. The new library building is part of a great urban renovation plan. The central location in the town shows the important role of a public library in the cultural life in the town. Using the same ground floor as the town square creates a connection with the environment and the citizens.
