The Combined Library of Drammen
In order to exploit to the full the library resources of Drammen and create a high-class, future-oriented library, three library organizations were brought together under one roof. Together they form the Combined Library/Drammensbiblioteket, which in turn is part of the Papirbredden Knowledge Centre, an integrated campus.
The new library building was completed in the beginning of December 2006 and the library opened officially on 2 March 2007.
Grosuplje Public Library
Municipal public library of Grosuplje is located in the heart of the city and represents one of the most vivid parts of public life in the community with 18.500 inhabitants. Nowadays library members represent 35% of regional population and the percentage grows noticeably every year.
Library activity in the community started before the Second World War with social and trade union libraries. Independent public library was established in 1962 and later in 1967 the first professional librarian was employed.
Public Library and archive, City of Tromsø
The main library building is located in the Fokuskvartalet area in the centre of the city. The main street "Storgata" and the Cultural Centre are within 50 meters distance from the library which is also part of a complex containing the Town Hall and a cinema. The library collection is housed on four floors and a top gallery and shares the building with the City Archives. Because of its convenient situation and spectacular architecture, the library has become a natural meeting place for the local citizens, and a "must see" experience for tourists.
Ventspils Main Library
Ventspils Main Library is located in the heart of the old town near Snt. Nicolai church. The library is situated in this place since 1937 when the Town Council bought an 18th century one-storey brick house at Akmeņu Street 2. Later the building was extended by an outhouse built in 1908 and several reconstructions were realized until 1999, when the competition for the radical extension of existing library building was held.
The Municipal Library of Vihti
Municipal Library of Vihti, "Agricola", was built in the central location of Nummela in 1998. The building project was carried out in a modified form from the original Agricola proposal of Hannu Jaakkola and Tapani Kerttula. The proposal won the first prize in an architectural competition arranged in 1990. Rakennus-Haaparanta was chosen to be the building contractor. The building has been beautifully landscaped.
State Public Library in Palma de Mallorca
This public library is the most important library in Palma de Mallorca, capital city of the Balearic Islands’ Autonomous Community. The current building was inaugurated on 2005, and it replaced insufficient premises in Palma’s Culture House. Projected by Spanish architect Jose Luis Martín Clabo, it has six floors, two cellars among them.
The architect has also made the State Public Library in Ciudad Real, Spain, in 2003.

Malmö City Library
Malmö City Library has almost 1 million visitors each year and is as well-known for its beautiful architecture as for how it seeks out new ways to offer knowledge and entertainment in a multicultural Malmö. The library has been rewarded with several prizes such as Library of the Year in Sweden, the Swedish National Encyclopedia’s Knowledge Award and Malmö City’s Integration Prize, among other things for using the services of multilingual upper secondary school students to help visitors who cannot speak Swedish.
Šentjur Public Library
The library of Šentjur is a public library with 6,35 employees in the service of 19,688 residents. The collection fund includes over 80,000 items; each resident visits the library five times a year on average. Here, more than 60 events take place annually. The materials from the fund are available to the visitors freely. They are orderly arranged in two floors in the adult section, children/youth section and in the media library. There is also an e-library available to the users and here they can use, free of charge, the internet or other services related to the use of the computers.
The Ivan Potrč Public Library
The Ivan Potrč Library falls within the major public libraries in Slovenia and in the pursuance with the legislation serves to almost 70,000 residents in the 16 communities of wider region of Ptuj. The library, named after the established Slovene writer, playwright countryman Ivan Potrč, has been located in the restored building of The Small Castle (Mali grad) since 2000. The building was first mentioned in the written sources from 1231. However, during the renovation process it was proven that there had been buildings already in antiquity. The beams preserved are dated 1766.
The Miran Jarc Public Library, Novo mesto
The origins of today’s modern library stretch back to 1865. With new image of a classic library, with its light and pleasant surroundings that are a joy to visit, a virtual library has begun to grow.
