Lomma new library, with its location on the border between the existing center and a new towndistrict by the sea that suddenly emerge, is given a key position in the city with great symbolic value for the municipality.

Halmstad City Library is situated in the central of the city near the beach of the river Nissan. The shape of the building is unique and the architects were inspired from the trees still standing on the site.

The library has approximately 260.000 media in some 50 different languages: books, magazines and newspapers from all over the world, cd’s, films, video games, talking books, digital books and digital music.

Malmö City Library has almost 1 million visitors each year and is as well-known for its beautiful architecture as for how it seeks out new ways to offer knowledge and entertainment in a multicultural Malmö. The library has been rewarded with several prizes such as Library of the Year in Sweden, the Swedish National Encyclopedia’s Knowledge Award and Malmö City’s Integration Prize, among other things for using the services of multilingual upper secondary school students to help visitors who cannot speak Swedish.
